Archived 25 PSI After FASS install

Just installed my fass 95gph pump. installed my autometer ultra-lite gauge to it and it's reading 25 psi of pressure. What could the problem be, checked the connections on the gauge wiring. is this normal for the first start up or is it not? i havn't driven it around yet so i'm not sure if it will go down after that. thanks in advance for any help.

I wouldn't worry about 25psi, 30 is where I would start looking for problems.

Just drove the truck home and now it's 30+psi which is the max on my gauge, i can get it to drop 2-3 psi when i take off at WOT but as soon as i let off it shoots right back up. i was planning on 15-20 but definatly not 30. could my sending unit be junk? What could be the porblem here? Thanks.

I would definatly double check the pressure with a mechanical gauge. ANY restriction on the return line back to the tank will cause pressure to go up. Make sure you dont have any kinks in the line. It is VERY unlikely that you have a spring that would put you this high in pressure. Those springs are kept away from the assmble area and only pulled when needed. The default spring that is installed in our units is the 13-14 PSI PS-1002 spring. Something is not right here.







Side Note:... i do a search for "FASS" and thses threads do not pop up. I get others, but ones i have already seen BUT when i go to the 911 setion and search, these threads now show. I though that was covered under "Open Forums"?? This is getting to be frustrating... ... My point... . Sorry for the delay!

It is VERY unlikely that you have a spring that would put you this high in pressure. Those springs are kept away from the assmble area and only pulled when needed. The default spring that is installed in our units is the 13-14 PSI PS-1002 spring. Something is not right here.

Well you had the older PS-1002 spring that usally put pressure about 20-22. That spring is totaly out of stock now. As far as a 25 PSI FASS 150 spring... . we dont have one on hand. Pressure brakes that we have are as follows:



8 PSI -- PS-1001

14 PSI -- PS-1002 (New one)

19-21 PSI -- PS-1002 (Old one no longer used)

35 PSI -- PS-1013 with 0. 100" Machined returned Fitting

45 PSI -- PS-1013

58-60 PSI -- PS-1014 with 0. 100" Machined Returned Fitting



Restriction on the return line can cause pressure to rise as well.

OOO sorry! Forgot to respond to you. I have had guys run 45 PSI with the stock filter no probs. (Actually he had an ATS CP3 with 2 HPFP's. One turned on at WOT and ran pressure up to 100+ PSI... ... . and he didnt leak. BUT i think that is a bit high for pressure myself) I dont see why you would want/need more than that.

where can we get springs? I have a Fass 150 and run 13psi at idle. I'd like to turn that up to 17psi. Any help Diesel Dan? I only live like 30 minutes from you guys. I tried calling yesterday and got no help. The lady I talked to told me to call a dealer. The dealer told me to call you.

What dealer did you talk to? I would be VERY interested in knowing. I know MCS stocks springs for us. If they dont have one, i usally meet Keith at night to give him parts. Let me know who you talked to... ... ... ... .
