can't seem to find a White 3500 with a NV5600

Should I get the WHITE 2500 with a manual transmission

OR Go with a WHITE 3500 with an AUTO

What would you suggest

Thanks

Depends on what you're towing. If you're talking about a 3500 dually over a 2500... there's a world of difference between the two. The advantage of a SRW 3500 over a 2500 is about 900 pounds extra capacity in the bed. If you have a 5th wheel the tongue weight comes into play. I thinks a 2500 has a bed capacity of about 2250 lbs and the 3500 SRW has a capacity of 3150 lbs. I think the towing capacity is the same between a 6 speed and an auto these days, so that doesn't matter. Bottom line, depends on what you want to tow. I was happy with my 00' 2500 but I love my '04 3500 SRW LWB!

What will you be towing?

How much does it weigh?

Will it be a daily driver?

Mostly freeway or city driving?

ON EDIT: Looks like Rusty beat me to it... :D

I try to be more specific

How much does it weigh?

Tongue weight 900#

Will it be a daily driver?

No

Mostly freeway or city driving?

Mostly I drive curve country roads and up hiway 1 coastal lots of 35 to 50 mph driving winding roads with some grades I would be pulling the trailer with Tongue weight 900#

You know wind your way up the mountain range and then down the other side.

I will only tow over up to Max about 2000 miles per year some of this would be in mountain and coastal hills

The rest of the time I will be just pulling my lite 16' flatbed utility trailer for loads under 3000 lbs

All trailers are rear hitch type

I have always had manuals figure I would have better longevity with a manual

Thanks

Winding roads with grades towing..... manual + exhaust brake. The brake will pay for itself in saved service brake costs.

2x4 or 4x4? The 2500 2x4 (year model 2003+) gets the rack & pinion steering, which handles better (IMVVVHO) & turns sharper. Dan
