The 3500 srw gets the 11. 5" rear axle and the larger rear calipers, regardless of transmission.

I ordered a 2500 HO 48RE. Now I know this combo gives me the 11. 5" rearend but will I also get the bigger rear brakes as well.

I believe the larger rear caliper pistons are on the 3500 only.

I got curious so I looked on my sticker and it lists the 11. 5 rear under the 6-speed transmission option (only man transmission with HO) which is 400 dollars. When I was looking on lots, I don't remember seeing any 10. 5 rears on anything but Hemis and V10s.

I even remember looking at a couple of stickers on SO autos and they also had 11. 5s. A friend of mine has the same truck as mine with the exception of LWB and his has the 11. 5. They are both 2500s. As to the larger caliper, I don't know. I'm pretty sure the rotor dia is the same. But I can tell you this. Either way those brakes are huge!:p
