Has anyone ever tried this tire size on a 2WD? Any problems?

I assume the wheels are the same as with a 245???

When I purchased my 4x4 last year they were on it, a generic brand tire,,So when I sold my 95 2wd ,that had a new set of Goodyear Wrangler H/T's on it,I swapped them between the trucks,,The new owner still has the 265's on yet and when I asked him the last time I saw him all he said was on a tight corner the rub the inner fenderwells up front a little,,You'll be alright with them

I just put a set of these on my truck, but didn't watch the people closely enough and got load range "c". Now it seems to be a big problem for them to find the 265/75/16 in load range "e" so I'll be swapping back to 245/75/16. Too bad though, I like the way the 265's look. The 265's don't hit anything in the front, but it is pretty close.

Good luck,

Mike

Vic,

My '95 2wd has the same stock chrome wheels you have and I bought a set of 265/75/16 Michelins take-offs at a local Les Schwab, took them with me to work and mounted them on the stock chromes and have had no problems what-so-ever. This is the size tire they should have come with in the first place... those 245's look rediculous!

The dealership can reflash your truck's computer to read the 265s as the stock tire and speedometer should be normal again. I asked about doing this to my 4WD, I would hope the same is true for the 2WD. They did mention that I would not have been able to do the same if it was a 98 truck (unclear if he meant 98 or 98. 5).
