I need some help on swapping out my injectors:

I have a 2000 medium duty truck with a 215 cummins ISB. It has been a complete dog since new(115kmiles on it now) For some reason the wiring harness is a little different than a Dodge installed ISB, and I cannot find a box to plug in, Blue Chip said he could get his wired up, but I'm looking at about $1400. 00 by the time I'm done... SO, my question is:

If I swap out my injectors to the 275HP, will this give me close to 275HP, I assume it is programmed differently also? NEXT, if I just swap injectors, will my EGTs be safe, I average 22K to 28K GVW with major wind resistance.

Lee, with the injector swap you will see about 30 hp difference. You may not notice much of a difference in power. If you want more power then go to a larger injector like DDII or DDIII. If you can get a box to fit your truck that would work well with the 275 hp injectors and your EGT's would be ok if you had a boost module. I would caution you that any mods should be preceeded with an EGT gauge mounted before the turbo. A boost gauge is a nice thing to have as well though not needed. If you have the 12 valve engine a fuel plate would be the way to go.

Lee- If the truck engine came at 245hp (HO) you would see about 30 hp. If it is the same engine as the automatics see it was a 215 engine and you should see 60 more hp. You should definatly get an egt gauge as long uphill pulls will get close to or over the 1300 max. You could add a TST p-max3 as I'm sure that the connections are all there. Problem is with all that fuel you will easily go over 1300 towing and weight.

Thanks guys, I know about the EGTS and all the precautoins, I have had a few Generation 1 cummins and fueled them up with injectors and adjustments, and I have had a couple 12valve models and have done the throttle plate and adjustments... ..... Damm ISB electronic motors... ... nothing to adjust!

I just want to do a simple no worries (now or later) upgrade, I figured 275hp injectors are cheap and should be safe with the EGTs, even empty this truck is a dog, 215hp 6spd OD with 4. 10... It ought to move, at least empty! I'm not interested in all the fancy stuff... ... ALTHOUGH I did have a hard time talking myself out of the Blue Chip box with all the goodies!

I will probably try the 275hp injectors.

Does anyone else have one of these Bering cabovers, or am I the only sucker??
