OK If your minds made up, but you will be back looking for DD2's or 3's within a couple months, may as well add a couple bills $ and do it right the first time. JMHO. :)

i'll second what chuck3 said...

i've got 275's and now i wish i had gone with DD2's..... don't get me wrong, i LOVE the way my truck runs but i just want something more...

I have 275s and love 'em

Gents:

I have 275s and love 'em. I'm not changing 'em for anything. They are the best injector for the price IMO. The combo I have moves my 8860 lb truck smartly thru traffic and pulls my 5th wheel great.

So, go for dude. Get those 275s. You won't regret it.

OK they are right. You will always want MORE POWER. I have 275”s they do help. I paid $275 three years ago $260 is a good deal.

If I change to DD2’s what is the cost and what will I see in performance?

My EGT’s go right to 1400+ than she shouts down to 1350 that’s the auto minder working.

Will DD2’s help or mike the EGT’s worse?

If I go with DD2’s I would seal the 275’s for half price.

I would think DD2 would be about 50 HP more than 275 injectors.

I dyno'd 280 HP with DD1 and EZ. With DD2 and EZ, I made 300 HP. Everything I've read says the DD2's will have lower EGT than DD1's because of the better spray pattern.

I have not experienced any EGT problems with 4" exhaust, BHAF, and EZ. I think you'll get a little more smoke with DD2's, but it is not bad.

Guys:

I dynoed 315hp and 774 ft lbs of tq. I tow w/ my box on 6, and have never gone over 1250 degrees. I get up and go in level 9 from time to time. I noticed the pyro climbs fast if you shift a too low of an RPM. I do use my pyro when pulling. When going up steep grade, I did down shift to 5th to keep egts down and keep her a 60 mph.

You guys having the EGT problem(s): You having it towing, just running around town, drag racing or what... . ? Just curious.

Nothing wrong with wanting more power, it's just I got mine where I wanted to be. There arefolks who are close needing wings to fly (drive these things), eh jetpilot? A little inside jke for one of our MD-TDR members who dynoed mid 700 HP a while back.

Finally, me and several of my friends are running different fuleing boxes w/ 275s and all are happy.

EGT – I only have problems towing up steep grades. I love going fast up steep grades. For those who know Cajon Pass on US 15 in southern Cal. 75 mph. is no problem. That is with trailer fully loaded.

I weighed reddge Last week with a full tank two passengers 7,770 lb. With our 26ft. trailer full of stuff 15,000 lb.

I would like to get EGT down maybe DD2 or DD3 would help?

reddge,

What are you running for an air intake??

I would say call Rod and get the 275s. I have a set of each with the dd2s in the truck now and for $260 you can't beat it. Don't get me wrong the dd2s are more fun but the 275s are a big boost from stock and I got great mileage with them. Can't control the stupid foot with the dd2s. :D

I dynoed 303hp at the rear wheels with the 275s and an EZ

Get some 3's and you won't regret it for a minute. With the wastegate disabled and the UFM turned off I don't see egt's over 1200. :)

You should have went to Muncie

You could have talked to Piers, and he would have filled you in. :)

I have the 275's and will now probible keep them instead off going to DD3's. I'm doing nothing but towing and playing around town and he said to keep the EGT's down to stay with the 275's. Piers said they would be good for getting up to 400hp with a major fueling box. :)

My truck dynoed at 209hp and 604. 2ftlbs of torque with just the 275's and 226hp and 844ftlbs of torque with the PowerMax 2 on. I was pretty happy with that. Oo. Oo.

I had the 275s and liked them quite well. I do not believe that your ETGs will be reduced by going to DD2s. I have the DD2s and they are great but, you will need to watch your EGTs. I dynoed at 373hp/759tq. with comp on 5x5. I can hit 1500 at the drop of a hat. On level 2x1 just normal acceleration will top 1100 almost every time.

Hey, guy did somebody try 275 against DD I ? If so, how they compare on EGT ? I want to add bigger injectors to, but I use my truck 90% of time for towing and don't want to spend my time to worry about high EGT. Now I run PE EZ with KN filter and EGT are not problem. And going to bigger exhaust will be last think I want to do. I don't mind noise from diesel engine ( I like that ), but can't stand drone or huming from rear. That give me last Q. What about change only front section to 4" from turbo to, I don't know if this is the resonator or cat. convertor ( truck is 01. 5 bought in CA. ), did will this help with EGT and don't produce drone or huming ?

M:cool:

I have been towing with my DDII's and love them. The EGT's do not go over 1000 Pre turbo. My last trip I turned my UFM on 1x5 EGT's crept up only about 50 degrees. My trailer is in sig below and weighs no more than 11,000 pounds. Also I was not running my SBC or B-1 turbo. When they go in I will step up to the COMP UFM and DD III's. Ken

TED CONSTANTINE

Thanks for the info. I have stock air box with K&N filter.

what do you sudgest. I am looking at Magnum Force by aFe

REDDGE,

You will be happy with a mega Cannon or for that matter any intake sytem will improve your egts over the stock box with a K&N. I have a JRE cold air heat shield with an AFE filter in it. Did wonders for my egts. Also a 4" exhaust is key. I would say if the price of the AFE Magna force (mega cannon) is not an issue you can't beat it.

I just reread my post and the second half which was intended for the original poster was not clear.

With the 275s only costing 260 you can't beat that. I like the dd2s a lot but they are much more expensive. The 275s are a great injector and a good match for general driving and towing.
