Hi all,

My first post here:)

I have been reading about the various injector upgrades and have become interested in swapping to the 275s. I have a couple of questions though. First off, Does anybody have a brand and part number for these so I can get my local parts guy to order them? What should I expect to pay for them? Last, would I be better off buying the DD stage 1 injectors with my TDR discount?

I think I can get away with this mod without killing my transmission.

Thanks,

Phil

injectors

Check Ebay - someone there has them for $225/set. Can't beat the price, and they showed up in 2 days via UPS. Sorry, short term memory loss - can't remember their name. I gained about 40 Hp. , haven't had them long enough for a fuel mileage check yet.

the ebay listing is crap and misleading

40% additional HP increase -

cummings -

know your source :)

I've considered the Bosch 275s as well, but after I began to read through the posts on here I gathered that the Bosch injectors are something of the past as far as upgrading goes and now the trend is to buy DD1s or larger, I believe most people actually go for the DD2s. I guess once you get the bug, you can't stop.

I'm confident that the Bosch injectors are quality products, but there are more and more products like the DD products replacing them all the time. While the DD injectors are a helluva lot more expensive, there would be a lot of advantages to getting them - you have personalized service, whereas you wouldn't with the eBay seller, and they do offer more power to name a few. I would buy the DD2s if I ever upgraded injectors.

Just my opinions.

I used to have Bosch 275's in my rig, they ran good and I didnt have any transmission problems with them ( transmission was still stock back then) Never ran DD1's so cant give you info on them.

Midwest Fuel Injection Service (847)991-7867

They have had adds on Ebay - genuine Bosch, no exaggerated claims. I have no connection with them, just thought they had good pricing, and good service.

You can go for more power - I didn't want to do my clutch right away. The justification was hope for better mileage!;)

Ray

Get them at Midwest Fuel Injection Service, ask for Ben.

The injectors offered from the place in San Diego are not Genuine Bosch injectors- they're a knock off.

Kev

Bosch just raised the price of the 275s tremendously. It is now cheaper to get DD1s and the DD1s also give more hp, about 65 vs. 45 hp.

Price increase on 275's

Glad I bought mine earlier this year:)

I feel bad for the ones wanting a set of the Bosch now:(

I agree with others about it being price gouging!

Phil

I just spoke with Midwest Diesel and

Midwest Diesel says that the price has increased so dramatically because Bosch has stopped production. Evidently, Bosch will only produce the 275RV injector on a "order" basis now.

So, Midwest is no longer offering those great deals on ebay. Yep, if you're like me, you missed the boat. I posted this info. on the Products forum already.

So, who is going to pickup the slack for the entry-level injector? I could justify $225, but $500 is just too far out of my league right now.

Oh well . . .

Unless DD lowers their price, the EDMs from Don are a FAR better value. They are superior in every way for a given HP level, simply because they use more advanced technology.

My DD2s are GREAT injectors. But a Mach2 from Don M delivers more hp, WAY more torque, and more efficient burn. EDM injectors have been tested to make as much as 100lb-ft MORE than extrude hone injectors within the same HP range.

My next injector WILL be an EDM from Don. Probably something in the 140hp range. Don M lurks over at the DTR website. Ask Jamie Attridge over there how much he loves his Don M Mach 2 injectors!!

Wow, thanks for the responses everybody! I called the guys at DD this morning and they talked me into buying the timing box first since They are sure I will want bigger injectors once I get my transmission upgraded.

It's like they were reading my mind... ... .....

Did you get your box? How are you liking it? Ready for injectors yet? Now's the time if you want the EDM's, or if you want to go the cheaper route, I got my 275's at the pre-discontinued price and can deal accordingly. :)

This isn't a slam on any of the guys who recommend DD1's. I originally considered them when I was in the process of changing out my injectors. The 275's seemed the most economical way to go at the time, and now looking back I can say that my decision was wise. If you are going to tow, which I do, but are worried about your warranty or your drivetrain, the 275's with an Edge EZ are just the ticket. I don't get lots of smoke and I've got the extra kick in the pants when I'm dragging my 5'ver up a big grade. And my transmission, u-joints, and differential have held up well now at 108,000 plus miles. I've run the injectors and box since the mid 50's without any fueling problems. I replaced the clutch about 20K after the power upgrades, but that was probably a given and I'm not sure that the cause of the problem was the upgrades. It could have been the driver. Good luck with whatever you get. If you do tow, I wouldn't go any bigger than DD1's.

I love 275's and an EZ

Sure I lust for 500HP but there is no shortage of smiles with this set up either. Modest yet spunky!

Sept 2000 installed Bosch 275 injectors

June 2001 installed DDIII's

Dec 2003 installed Mach 5's

June 2004 took Bud cans and drilled 18 1/4" holes and installed

One day at a time. :-laf

I love my 275s. I cannot comment on other inectors, but I like the stock feel of the 275s. They make the power nice and smooth.

Bill, How do those run? Were they empty before you drilled them? :D
