As I have read, the 275's are "balanced' +/- 8%. The DD's are 'balanced' to a closer tolerance. Can you tell a difference in the performance because of the closer tolerance? It seems that there would be smoother idle and smoother power applied. Also at what HP are the DD1, DD2, DD3 etc... rated? Now, are the DD's worth the extra $ ?

Thanks Ron.

HI, I have the DD's ( stage 1's) and they rock!!!I beleive they add about 35-50 hp and up to 85 ft lb's. I can say that my truck idles smoother over stock and my mileage increased a little, but the fun factor increased a buch. . The truck will smoke more if you press down on the go pedal without giving the trubo time to spool...

See my sig.

I love my DD2's, but they replaced stock so I have no comparison to 275's, altho Sky drove my truck and said it had noticeable more power and less smoke than his 275's with EZ.

Don't forget to ask about the TDR 20% discount when talking with www.dieseldynamics.com I think it's still offered, and it makes the DD injectors very tempting.

Your horsepower questions are answered at the DD website.

Like 24V-DSL, I went right from stock to my DD stage 3's, so can't personally compare them with anything else.

I will however give you this to think about (just trying to help people save money :D):

When going for major BOMBs, like injectors, boxes, etc. , do your research and decide if you will honestly be satisfied with a little power increase, or if you'll want as much as you can reasonably afford, without double mortgaging your house  What I mean is this - some people start out small, "I'll go with 275's or DD 1's" then they feel the new power, and quickly decide "Ok, now I need more... . " and end up BOMBing piecemeal. Ending up goiung through multiple sets of injectors/boxes/etc. before getting the :D factor they really want.

Yes, DD stage 3's might initially cost more than stage 1's, but starting with 1's then ending up with stage 3's costs way more than going straight for the stage 3's at the beginning. When I got mine, the DD Super Mentals were not yet ready for open sale, or I would absolutely have gone that route.

I realize not everyone wants, or can afford to compete with the likes of HVAC, My 6 Eats V8's, Sportbike, etc. , but this is one more thing to keep in mind.

BOMB away and enjoy!

DDIIs

Hi Rono,

This past weekend I seen two eth trucks on the dyno. The first one had DDIIs and boost module, straight pipe 323 hp. The next truck had a similar set up to mine, Edge Comp, 4" Exhaust, DD IIs, propane. His run w/o propane 426hp and with propane 496hp. I dont want propane yet but I have a Southbend ordered, then DDIIs. DD doesn't offer 1s for the eth. Bomb On, Sam.

Hey Rono,

I ran RVs for awhile and liked them. For the price they are a great upgrade. Keep your eyes open, you should be able to score a set of used ones because many don't stay at the RV level for long (like me). That is the downside, if you only want to do 1 injector upgrade then shoot for DD2s. For people who live in hot country I would not go above DD2s unless you don't care about making lots of smoke. When the weather was 99-104F here for over a week I could make smoke at will.

I have ridden in trucks with RV injectors that idle extremely smooth. For the most part they are probably fairly even but you are guaranteed even flow & popoff pressures with the DDs. My truck has a rough idle problem since new, so I never knew how even my RVs were. The downside of installing higher flow injectors if you have less than a perfectly smooth idle, that is not caused by injectors, the idle smoothness will get worse instead of better (as in my case).

I would recommend starting with used RVs, it isn't too big of a job to change injectors out, and then upgrade later when you feel the need for more power  RVs gave a nice jump in power to my ETH. But as Dawg-1 mentioned, I dynoed at 323 horsies with my Stage 2s :)

Thanks everyone for the replies. I knew where to ask! This is such a great site, with so many people from different background and professions. Thanks again, it sounds like I need either the lll's, now for the $$$.
