I put the 27mm cylinders on today and they work great! It feels like the back is braking as hard as the front now. It should be wonderful for towing. The fronts always got hot real quick going down the passes. FYI, the Bendix pt. # is 33709 - <$23@ jobber price. Craig

Craig,

I put the larger rear wheel cylinders on about 8 months ago and I agree with you about the improved brake response. I just wish that the darn things would self adjust like most of the other wehicles I have owned for the last 30 years. I don't tow very often, but have almost 2000# in the box daily and do mostly local driving. Are you coming to Jordan's on the 8th? I am trying to get my velocity stack built by then. (Maybe) Bob

Are you saying that the self adjusters don"t work because of the new cylinders or just because of a bad design in the first place?

Bob, i haven't seen where Jordans' meeting is yet but probably will go. Oldiron, the cylinders won't matter to the adjusters. I want to take a real serious look at them sometime. I had the drums off one time and excercised the back shoe with a screwdriver and they adjusted fine but they don't work normally. Seems like the link from the top center pin to the adjuster isn't the right length so the back shoe has to move too far before the adjuster catches another tooth on the star wheel. Just guessing for now, I have to look closer! I cleaned and lubed the adjusters and they are better. The grease that DC used set up like putty! The first time I adjusted them, I turned the wheels about two turns. Craig
