Do they rub,and how well do they look?

Not going to be doing much towing but I have auto w/4:10 and want the rpm down[bought used would like manual but everybody around here gets auto] as well as looks and ground clearance.

Thanks

Where do you live. If you get a lot of snow where you are at the 255/85's will be better on snow covered roads. IMHO the 285's look better but that is really as matter of personal preference.

I run with the 285's and like them very much. Truck sits about an inch higher and they fill the wheel well up a little nicer. Have not had any problems with snow or ice. I would tend to think this would be more driving style/habits than anything else. I do run an Abbott Ratio controler with the 285's to keep the speedometer correct. :)

285's all the way!!!! see my truck pic gallery for pics of them, and what they look like.

My $. 02 worth...

I asume that you all are talking about single wheeled trucks? Whats the tallest/ widest tire you guys have/run on a dually? I have 235/55R16's on mine right now and would like to fill the wheel wells out a bit more.

Thanks... . Ryan

I understood 285/75-16's to be too wide for the stock wheels on the 12 valves. Is this correct? I ran 255's and loved them.

With a lack of 17 inch options I'm going with 19. 5's on my new one. :D

I have never seen a 255/85 that i can remember,,,,, i'm running 285's on 01 wheels,,,,,,,,, made all the difference in the world

I run 285/75/16 on mine. Love all the inprovments. I ran from cleveland to pittsburgh through all types of snow. never had a problem.

Ryan. .

what year Dually... makes a difference

the four wheel disc models have a wider back spacing... and can run a larger than 235 tire,... pre 4 wheel disc about the most you can do is 235x85x16 without spacers

with spacers you can almost run what ya want . . but spacers are not my choice.

Personally I think that 285's are a little wide for a 6. 5" rim but many members have been running that combo with good success.
