I have a Mega Cab 2WD coming and I want a larger tire and was thinking of the Cooper 285 or BFG 305 and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the two different tires. The local tire shop would swap the stockers out for either one----the BFG are a little higher.
The 315's will not fit under the 2wd without hitting the wheel well while turning. I am getting the longest mileage (with my BFG's) out of ANY truck tire nw. I have 30,000 miles on the tires and not even 1/2 wore out. I am not easy on my tires either. Good wet and dry traction. Not much tire noise at speed and they seem to hold the balance well.
Personally, I'd go with the 285 BFG Mud Terrains. They might be only a LR D, but they are a far superior tire. Handle better, carry more weight and last twice as long.
Did I mention I just so happen to have a set I want to sell... :-laf :-laf :-laf
