I have just recently replaced my worn out 265s with 285 BFG ATs, and the mpg has fallen about 3 to around 15. The truck is at the dealer; they are trying to locate a water leak, while they have it; they are going to recalibrate the overhead trip computer, and the speedometer. Up until now, the trip computer has been almost dead on, when I have figured the mileage long hand. My first question is, has anyone else ever had this done, and does it work. Second if I put in an EZ box, will this help with the millage, once I get over playing with it. Where is a good place to get one. And the last question... ... GAGE'S:p I want some that will come as close as possible to matching the one in the dash. What kind is the most preferred. Where is a good place to get some and the A pod.

Thanks for your help in advance. :D

I am running EZ, 275 Injectors, 315 75 16 and get 18 -20 avg and as high as 24 on smooth interstate 70mph avg.

That's also with a 6 speed 3. 54 gears. I noticed a 1-2 mpg improvement with EZ and another 1 or so with the injectors and for what ever reason, I just replaced the lift pump and gained another 1 mpg it seems. Old pump idled at 9psi and held steady around 5 psi @70. New pump idles 14-15 psi and cruises around 11-12 psi.

I'm running 285s and an EZ (and DD1s) - you will love it. As for your current mileage situation - 285s are larger so your Speedo will be off - make sure you calculate the extra 6-10% the tire diameter accounts for.

The 285s can drag your MPG down but it appears to depend on the tread/tire. My BFG mud terrains do drag mine down by as much as 3 mpg also, but I did have a set of highway tires that size with which I got up to 23 MPG. Big diff... ... ... .

By the way, the can't recalibrate any of the computers on your truck to compensate for the 285s. Last I heard from the dealer, it was one size up from stock tire sizes, that was it.
