285's on a dually

whats it take to mount 285's on my 03



do I need custom rims

or

just spacers



I saw a picture of a red dually in texas with 315's on what appeared to be the stock rims



they stuck way out and looked way cool

but I dont need them that big

The rims are fine. You may need some spacers (maybe just 1/4" or 1/2" not 2" like on the truck you saw).

You might be alright with factory studs with a 1/4" spacer. 1/2" may be pushing it. The big spacers like 2" have a second set of studs in them. One wheel goes on, then the spacer bolts on. The outside wheel bolts to the spacer.

how much taller are they if any or just wider-where do you get the spacers?

They are a little taller and a little wider. Small spacers can be found at some local auto part stores, the larger ones can be found at www.performancewheel.com
