The original BFG 265's were making some serious noise and vibration. Completely unbearable at times. They failed the load match testing at Discount Tire with only 26k miles. I rotated them every 7. 5k and always checked pressures.

I complained BFG and got them to replace them on a prorated basis. I went with BFG A/T KO 285/70/r17's.

After having them installed and went to the dealer and using the info I found here, helped th service manager to use the scan tool to change the speedometer calibration. Went out and checked it using timer and mile markers and it was right on.

The one post that I read about this said that in the scan tool that the Rev's per mile were only able to be set between 636 and 690 which did'nt seem to allow for much of a selection of tires. But, the one he was using allowed from 400 to 900 rev's per mile. It also displayed the the current value which was 658 rev's per mile. Had it changed to 634 as per BFG's specs.

The tires definetly look better. Now waiting for my KORE HD leveling kit and rear shocks to show up. Next will be an catback exhaust and Afe filter and BD shifter. Man,when you get the itch it takes alot of scratching. :-laf

Ummm, yeah. I can agree with that statement.

Hope you like the KORE setup with your 285's. I think you'll want 305's next time around. I keep switching between my 35's and 285's. I like the mileage of the 285's and the look of the 35's. Can't have both, so most of the time I have the 35's mounted. I think I'm due for a switch again, gonna go to a dyno again soon :).

Get your truck on a dyno, then see how bad the itch is.

I put the BFG 285s on my truck last year, and have been very happy with them. I thought about the 35s, but decided against. It must be very expensive to switch between the two sizes - don't you have to buy a similar sized spare since you have 4x4? That's what the guys at Discount recommended to me when I bought.
