Put a set of 285/75-16 BFG's on my dually last Thurs after work. Used bolt on spacers for the rears. I thought it looked good enough that I'd post some pics. Not sure on pic size so we'll see what happens here.

Looks nice. I've been thinking about 285's on my next tire change. Why did you use spacers in the rear. Were the tires that close together in fear of rubbing?

Sweet!!

I wanted that look when I first got my truck.

After having over sized MUD tires on my dually I will NEVER do it again.

Talk about killin the mileage... :( Then theres the handling thing (felt like I was driving on ballons, until they started getting bald :( )

Try driving mud terrains on ice, like ball beaings on ice. Fresh snow they are great. Thanks for the pics. I'm looking at the same size and tire for mine.

Any chance you might have some pics of the spacers or even just where you got them from and what they were like? what size were they? steel or aluminum. Also, what kind of space do you have between the tires now with the spacer?

Reason I am asking is I am going with just 255/85R16's BFG MT's which are a little taller than the 285's but 5/8" narrower. Anyway, I am thinking of running spacers also. I put a set of fender flares on my dually fenders and I am wanting to fill out the tires to the spacer or it might look dump. I figure I need a 2. 5" spacer which will spread the tires about 1. 5" appart... not to bad of a distance I think anyway.

Hopefully you can answer those questions for me

Thanks... RyanB

I've ran many rigs with BFG All Terrains on them and have always been happy with them. The ride has improved, less harsh. Overall height is just under 1" taller and 30 revs per mile less. Even though they are load range D they have 3306 lb rating single, my old 235/85/16 LR-E were 3042. Handling seems fine empty, haven't pulled anything yet.

The spacers came from Performance Wheel & Tire in Sheridan, CO; 303-934-2929, they are on the web also. Spacers are available in many widths. The 285's would just touch when the truck was let down off the jack, so I went with a 1" aluminum spacer (minimum width available). You put the inner wheel on, then the spacer (you have to cut the studs down so they don't protrude through the spacer) and torque the nuts, then bolt the outer wheel onto the studs on the spacer and torque. Very simple. The only bummer is there is no flange to center the outer wheel, I just centered on the studs the best I could. I'll try take a pic with the outer off and post it in the next day or two.

Yeah the spacer issue and having hub centric wheels is the only thing that I am a little worried about. My axle is actually an 11. 5AAM out of a 2003 Chevy but its still hub centric. I did talk to Preformance wheel and they said that they don't make a hubcentric spacer.

Turns out what I am going to do is have my own made out of billet steel. What I am going to do is make them hub centric and then take my Alco rear rims(outsides) and have the hub bored out so the spacer acts like its hubcentric... hard to explain but it will work.

Anyway, nice pics!!!!!
