Hi,

I bought an 06 Wildcat 29 BHBP and I'm looking at an 05 2500 Quad shorty to pull it. Anyone own one ? It will weigh in at between 10k and 11k loaded, just wondering how it will haul, I am suspecting much like my 3500's without as much stability.

Well, I haul a Jazz 2780 bh, which is similar, and A 2500 Quad short bed should handle it just fine.

That been said you may want to consider a 3500 of the same configuration to give you a comfort zone with your (legal) weights. I found that all loaded up with hitch,gear and trailer my truck is up around 9500lbs and my rig is probably a little bit lighter than yours. Stability with the SRW is excellent.

Hi Kirk. Congrats on the Wildcat. We just love ours. You might try this owners site http://68.15.40.218/wildcat/

A friend of mine pulls his 28' w/a 2500 Hemi, so I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble at all. If I had a choice, tho, I'd go w/a 3500 if I could. Have fun! Bruce

We have a 29 Wildcat 5er as well. I pulled it with our '01 2500 2wd shortbed with no problems. Little to no trailer sway either. I had the Reese slider hitch which was a huge help. However... . we did move up to a 3500 dually. Mainly because I wanted more room in the back for the boys, and my past history tells me that a bigger 5er is in my future :-laf Your truck will handle the camper fine. Take care.

I have a 27RK which is actually 30 feet long. I tow with a 02 2500 shortbed & have no problems. I added the firestone airbags and that made the ride much better.

I have to load the majority of gear in the front end to get enough of the tongue weight on the truck.

I also own a Wildcat that we're really happy with. The only real problems I've heard is that the 13. 5K BTU A/C wont keep a 29 footer cool at all. Moving up to a 15K BTU unit solves the problem. If you want more info on your Wildcat, there's an online forum for this brand on the internet.

Enjoy!

My air conditioner works very well in my trailer, I've never had a problem getting the trailer to cool down with the 13. 5K...

I kinda figured someone would say that, I'm glad yours work well.

I just wanted to pass along the info from several different posts I've read about this subject.

I've never even used my AC yet ~ haven't had the TT in any weather warm enough! :{

Hope to correct that situation this year in sunny souther Ca. Oo.

I added on to my A/C... I had 1 15K BTU with the ducts and my 36' 5th which is act. 28' without the toyhauler garage, could not keep up in high heat (100-110 degrees) i added a 13. 5K BTU regular style so now my A/C is almost Equal to my Furnace... 28. 5 K BTU A/C, and 30K BTU Furnace.

I am able to run both A/C's on low using my 5500 gen... Trailer has a 50 amp service for the plug in so that works... . The A/C Is able to keep up now.....
