my truck worked fine when I parked it and next morn its auto trans in limp mode, spent over $300 at dealer and they told me to replace wiring and computer? ( parts adders?) anyway now its running down battery over night and Ive changed out the gov switch and trans ducer with no luck, checked all connections too! wiring harness over bellhousings looks to be OK! (pulled wires out of that loom and didnt see any problems) anyone know what wire should get fire and ground down on the trans and where it feeds off of? Im needing truck really bad, its got to be a easy find since it has never hit any again since it stopped working! I also checked battery terminals and fuses, it gives a code of po748 on the speedo, my OTC shows nothing, that code says gov press sol has electrial failure (hense no fire to it?) truck has only 3rd gear and reverse, NO over drive or 1st gear and I have to pull it down to 2nd gear to take off or it will take off in 3rd all the time, TC also not working, Over drive button makes light go on and off , so that seems to be working fine?

Limp modeor second or third gear starts? They will mask Limp.

Sounds like something internal other than the Gov Pres Solonoid. Don't continue to drive it or you will be in for ALOT more money than if you were to stop driving it and TOW it to a shop. 2nd gear starts shear fluid and make heat FAST. . third gear even more clutches hate heat and so do seals.
 
Called Bill at DTT and he told me to see if # 1 wire at trans was getting 12volts which it wasnt, so I changed relay and still no fire, I took off relay and put in a jumper wire and now I got fire and gears! thanks, I dont know if running with out relay will hurt it or not? but it sure beats going 45mph at 2600 rpm so its got to be better on it anyway! I dont know why it wont take a relay now? but its working! Dodge Estimate to repair it plus what I spent already would have cost me atleast a total of $2200 dollars with same effect as a 20cent jumper wire with 2 terminals! I will never use or buy anything from that Dealer again! not only did they screw me for over $300 the diesel mech got mad when I asked him if he took the trans wiring off the truck to inspect it! they were going to charge me 10 hours to exchage wiring which only took me 15minutes to pull last night!
