billet fuel filter cap, take notice

Anyone know where to buy an NV5600 without a core charge?

Around my house I have permission to try experiments on my wifes truck:D :D When we bought the truck it has -6n fuel lines and fittings already on it. But I got the wild hair to see how easy it would be to replace the -6n system with a -8n or 1/2" system. Did it need it maybe not but I wanted to see what the difference would be in how the new system would maintain fuel pressure with a stock lp.

The project took a couple of hours getting everything removed and the new stuff routed and installed like I wanted it. When I got it all button'd back up and started I checked for leaks while it idled. No leaks... . !!!!!!!! Now it was time for a road trip to see how things changed. The first impression was that the throttle response was quicker and the power came on smoother. Once the truck was up to normal operating temp... I got on it much harder to see how the fuel pressure acted with the new lines compared to the old system.

I was very pleased to see that I had gained over a pound of pressure. On WOT I could draw the pressure down to 10lbs with the old system but with the new lines the pressure was staying above 11 and nearly 12lbs of presssure.

When I got back home and got all the tools cleaned up and I got in the house... my wife ask if I had any problems with her truck. I told her no and I didnt mention of how it had changed the throttle response. I wanted to see if she noticed or if it was just me looking for something. The next day she took her baby to get new tires and when she got home... her first words were. . 'what did you do to my truck'???? I ask why and what was it doing??? She said that it runs so much better than it did and the throttle is more responsive than it use to be. . She said that excellerates so smooth now...

Anyway this came from the person that drives the truck all the time. . so things must have changed!

Here is a picture of the difference from the stock banjo fittings to the -6n system that was on it to the -8n or 1/2" fittings and lines that are on her truck now...

That's what some of us have been saying for some time now. We have driven our trucks for thousands of miles, and know how they run.

As soon as we post anything stating that they run "smoother", or "respond quicker" after fuel system enhancements, we have to drop into the foxhole, because sure enough, about an hour later here come the "SOP" attacks asking for dyno sheets, weather stats, MSDS data on the current fuel load, and of course. . VIN numbers :D.

I agree w/ your wife, our trucks are severely under engineered as far as the fuel supply direct to the VP is concerned. Glad the effort paid off, in "unforseen" dividends ;)

Great story, and I was able to have a little fun with it as well...
