OK... All you guys with towing experience and automatics... . How often have you wished you had an extra low gear for moving your monster trailer around in tight places? Iam buying a Laramie, but the 4WD electronic shift may put me out of the running for an after market 2LO kit to disconnect the front end and use the transfer case low gear for on pavement maneuvering. Does anyone know if a 2LO kit is available for the electronic shift 4WD transfer case? A website link to any retailers of 2LO kits would also be helpful. Any and all input and advice appreciated.

No option for a 2low kit on any of the 3rd gens. Front axle is solid and always turning. The only way I see around it is a kit that converts the front to external hubs - but that won't be simple or cheap.



The only difference with the electric shift is the transfer case is shifted with a servo motor instead of the lever.

There probably is another way around it, a new shift fork for the transfer case. Someone would have to develop it though, and it'd require removal and opening of the t-case to install it. It'd probably be in the $100-150 range though.
 
Seems like when I looked under there it has an 2 electric solenoids. Is one for the hi/low and the other for 2wd/4wd? If so you could rig a switch to where you could cut the power to the 2wd/4wd solenoid and just have low range. If that's how it's set up it seems like it would be really easy to get 2wd low range.



Edit: I don't think that would work, nevermind. Seems to me if you have an auto you don't really need a 2wd low anyway.
