2nd Dodge/Cummins? 3rd - more?
Realizing that the Mercedes part of MDC makes decent diesels of their own - and is a rather cut-throat bunch who would cheerfully dump Cummins in a heartbeat - IF it wasn't for the Cummins brand loyalty group of truck buyers who has kept the company in the black as competitors bleed red ink - how many here are on their 2nd or 3rd Dodge/Cummins?
I suspect that the single, greatest reason we continue to see that "Cummins" nameplate on the Dodge truck is purely due to the above stated brand loyalty and reputation the Cummins has built for DC/MDC over the years since '89 - and that even at that, the Mercedes segment of the company will steadily and stealthily work at easing Cummins out of the picture as they slowly introduce more Mercedes diesels into their product lineup...
