Archived 2nd gear starts?

How do I adjust my throttle valve cable(kick down)? I,m having second gear starts again. The cable seems to loose and I,m having 2nd gear starts again. Just changed the govenor pressure solenoid and sensor 700 miles ago. I need a simple explaination. Thanks

If I recall correctly, You should adjust it to the point of least free play in the idle position. There are other opinions on this, such as adjusting it at full throttle. Does it shift normally in the remaining gears? Are you sure it's not in limp mode? Also, have you adjusted your line pressure higher? That will cause 2nd gear starts. Stock transmission... ?
