2nd Gen Center caps on 1st Gen?

I recently purchased a set of Rickson steel wheels for my W250. I want to put some '99 factory center caps on them. Will they only fit the rear, since the front is a manual hub? Will I need special lug nuts?

I believe the lug nuts are the same from year to year. You could drill/ cut a hole for the hubs to stick out, or go capless.
