Can someone help?

Well finely had to install my new seat in my crew cab, the old bench went twang then bang, and I was setting on the floor  Oo. . So last nite I installed a seat from a 97 Dodge. Had to shorten the seat brackets and modify the floor a little with a BFH. but it is well worth it :D :D . Boy what a difference, the new seat is about a inch higher which I like(the old seat felt like you were setting on the floor) and I don't miss the squeaking of the springs either  . I f anyone is interested I can post some photos of the modified seat brackets of the 2nd gen seat.

In a standard cab 1st gen, the floor is about an inch taller than a crew cab, so you would need to shorten the brackets of the 2nd gen more other wise you would have lots of leg room but no head room :{ . I am also having the seat belts modified to use the newer latch.

SEAT BOMBING

Anything is possible with a BFH,torch, welder. When i upgraded the seat in my '95 dually i took the old bench seat out and put it in my dad's '70 D300 ! It fit amazingly well (with a little help). Put a "lift kit on the seat, now you sit up higher in the cab too. :D

What's that song???????????

You know, Johhny Cash at the Cadillac factory????

Ever feel like that, Kyle? I do... ... ... .

Ok here is the passenger side bracket, The front on was cut down to 2 3/4 inches(from the base to the bottom of the seat track). The back bracket was not modified. As for the middle brackets, they were not modified, just beat the I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER out of the floor on the passenger's side a little with a BFH:)--) (I forgot what time it was and awakened the neighbors with the noise:eek: Oo. :{ )

Driver's side seat bracket, again front bracket only was cut down to 6 inches. Guys make note, use this for ONLY a crew cab, the floors in a dodge crew cab are more than a inch shorter than a standard or extended cab

Kyle,

That seat looks great in there. That is a leather seat right? Where did you get it and how bad did it hurt the wallet if you dont mind me asking.

I like those Steelhorse seats also but the factory look is more appealing.

How about a back seat retro fit? Is that next in the works? What is the comparison on a Quad Cab leather back seat vs the back seat in our Crew Cabs with the Naugahyde?

Sorry

Its a tan cloth seat out of a 97 extended cab dodge(real hard to find tan). When I find another tan seat to match I will replace the OEM cloth back seat. I spent about $250 with shipping for Paul in Northern Wisconson(800)338-4002 I believe that he has more of them in grey. The back seat I will remove the tracks and adapt the 1985 seat brackets to work with the newer seat. Of course I could not do this with out the help of the MIG welder my wife got me for Christmas a couple of years ago ;) .
