Work was performed on 2002 2500 CTD before I bought it. It looks like it was an entire swap, meaning they used 3rd gen calipers instead of the 2nd gen. It has the 3rd generation caliper with the 2nd gen brake hose.
The 3rd gen has 10mm(.394") bolt while the 2nd has the ⅜(.375)". Not sure how they got the 2nd gen type hose to work with the 3rd gen caliper??? The 3rd gen banjo bolt will not fit 2nd gen banjo. If I order the 3rd gen it has a different bracket and doesn't have the solid middle section.

Has anyone had this issue?

I figured it out finally, posting this for the next dummy:
If you replace calipers with 3rd gen you'll need to ream out the banjo in order to use the proper hose. Best method is to reuse the 2nd gen caliper with the 3rd gen caliper bracket. that way you can use the same hoses.

Don't late 2nd gens and 3rd gens use the same caliper? I picked up an '01 Dana 60 for my '94 for the upgraded brakes, they look the same except for the bracket for the different rotor diameter.

How did this turn out? I am facing a front brake rebuild project on my 1996.
