2wd cab on 4x4 frame?

Well as it usually. Goes im finally getting some work done on my resto, heres some background about five years mabey more i bought my 92 4x4 it was well used and abuzed as it was a plowtruck from day one well wen i got it and plowed with it the cab would sink about 5 in wen the plow was raised about a year later i bought a 93 2wd w/65xxx on it almosr perfect cept it t boned a garbage truck. Well its now time to swap the cab over are there differences in the trans tunnel other than the shifter hole? Ill try and document my progress and start a build thread sorry for the novel just wanted to give an idea of what i got going on and by the way its great to be back thanks

There isn't much of a difference at all so it should be a very easy swap

No difference in height or width

No Sir only Minor on hump but you can fix that easy infact the hump may be the same also just pull the Carpet n look everything else will be the same

Ive done this on my old gasser 1973 , it goes with no sweat the gasser i just swapped the transmission cover

Yes, I did it also, I just cut the floor of the gasser out far enough so the diesel hump contours started to match up and welded the diesel hump in.

there is no diffrence i know of in the hump from a "deisel cab " only from 2 wd to 4 wd

So how did you swap cabs?

I tried to start a new thread on the subject. I have a pristine 92 that I'm taking off the frame and want to be sure to do it without damaging anything. I have a 6 ton excavator on site, but not sure how to hook straps etc up to the cab.

Can you do the swap with fenders and all in one piece?

You must take the frontend off how I do it is take each side apart that way you can line thing's back up easy as for lifting the cab how we did it was a strap through the cab and then lift it with a back hoe

Ive done it with the nose conected in one peice i picked it up with the loader tractor but a fork lift would as well just use some straps and sling it and pick it up !!!!!
