Well i've got 136k on the truck and a large portion of that time it's been overloaded. Now the truck is beginning to wander at highway speeds, not bad but noticable, and i'm thinking i need to replace some (all?) parts. Any suggestions? Is there any part or parts that wear out regulary? My tires wear fine on the front so no help there. Steering shaft?

Thanks!

Brian :)

Brian, it sounds like your bushings and/or a part in your steering up in the front suspension. With the number of miles you have on your truck, the bushings should be replaced anyway just from age. Go with polyurethane bushings, and you will get a better ride and they will most likely be the last set you have to put in. As far as the steering goes, take it to an alignment shop and have them inspect your tie rods, ball joints and pitman arm. If one or more these parts are worn out, they will affect your wandering. You might be better off just replacing the two big ones, the ball joints and tie rods as the do the most work, even when you dont turn and are worked even more with a load.

I hope this helps you.
