Hi everybody. I'm anxious to get started on my truck and want to try to fill up those giant wheel wells.

Just curious if anyone has tried stepping the sizes up a bit and how far I can go?

Right now it has the stock size and tons of room.

Thanks a bunch

I've conversed with a few people who put 265's on 2wd's with no problem (although most tire sites will tell you that this is too wide for the 6. 5 wheel that came standard). One TDR member in Texas that I'm aware of put 255/85's on and DID have some slight rubbing. After lots of thought I am going to stick with 245/75's - getting a set of Toyo M-55's on Tuesday. One of my main reasons is I have a Mag-Hytec rear end cover and I'd be worried about clearance for the spare. That and the fact that I would have to buy a 265 spare...

If you do go larger I would love to see pic's.

Thanks for the info Vic. I'll probably move away from the stock rims so the section width to 6. 5 wheel won't be as much of a problem.

Will do on the pictures once I finally decide on the size. John

870 horsepower??? :--) I guess they wouldn't last very long! :D

You have any pictures of your truck sport'n those??

There are 2 pics in my readers rigs, there not the best pics but you will get the idea of how they look on the stocker truck :) Yes it chunks tires bad, even at high speeds.

I'm running 285/75-16's on '01 alloys with no issues on my '98.

The '01 wheels have more backspacing than the original steel wheels & are 8" wide.

Although I bought my truck used, I am almost certain the stock tires were 265/75R16E. The spare is a 265 and I put 265s on when I got new tires. I have the Mag-Hytec diff cover and have noticed just the tiniest spot on the top of the cover where the spare will touch on large suspension movements. I have a bed cover in the garage waiting to install and once it is on I am going to strap the spare down in the bed.

Pics of my truck are in my gallery.

I have the Michelin LTS M/S 265/75-16E, as an OE on my truck, 59. 000 on them, will replace soon with the same. For me they work very well, it's a work truck, often loaded with stone, concrete, marble, etc. I have a Mag-Hytec that I want to install, and it came with one spacer, for relocating the factory sway bar on the 2WD. Can anyone explain how is that done, and if there is a real issue with the cover on, and the truck loaded?

I know my Mag-Hytec did NOT come with a spacer but I believe that is because I have the D70 rear end (because I'm a S. O. automatic). With the H. O. 6-spd you get the D80 which means you need the spacer.

Sorry I can't help with the install.
