I tried a search on this. I know there are a couple of kits out there to let you use the lo range of your transfer case and not engage the front wheels. Which of these kits has anyone tried and liked?
I'm using one of the Two-Wheel Low Kits put together by TDR member Bob V. The kit was complete and the instructions excellent. This thread will give you Bob's simple explanation of how his system works.
My 2-low is from BD. Easy to install. Only criticism is that it locks out the front axle in both low and high. Otherwise, backing my trailer is a dream now.
I have the BD kit and just love it for my camper parking application! A must have! I have since checked out the Bob V kit (on a friend's truck) and have to admit that it is a much better design. I will keep my BD kit but if I had to do it again, I would definitely go for Bob's kit.
As viewed from the drivers side. vacuum lines are routed back and down through the rubber shifter cover. I used an ice pick to make the holes and pushed the vacuum lines thru after plugging the lines with round tooth picks.

A better view showing the routing of the vacuum lines. With each line having it's own hole it's easier to know which line you are touching when underneath the truck. (After more than a year still a good install. )

Almost complete, need to install hour meter and transfer case boot.

Install complete. The switch is next to the floor, just in front of the 2/4 wheel transfer case shifter. Forward position = 4 wheel engaged and backward position = 2 wheel Low engaged.
