2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 2wl. dr. front ball joints not replaceable?

A fellow TDR member has a 2000 Quadcab 2500 two wheel drive and just failed a DOT test in Indiana for loose upper and lower ball joints. The parts store show that the joints are not replaceable after '99 and Dodge wants big bucks for all four control arm assemblies. Starting in 2000 the ball joints are rivited in rather then pressed in like the older trucks.



Does anyone know of a replacement ball joint or have used control arms for sale? Thanks, Larry

none are available for the 4x2 at this time only for the 4x4. the only way to replace them is to replace the whole control arm

Ball Joints

Hey Larry Moog makes both a upper (K7366) and a lower(K7369) ball joint for the 2000 2/WD dodge.

moog's website doesn't have any listed for 99 or above year models, and i cant verify what those part #'s are for so i guess its worth a try to see if someone can cross reference those #'s and see if they might fit

Ball joints

Well Chip I work for Moog and we do make the ball joints for the 2000 2W/D dodge!!!!! They are a bolt in type ball joint , you will have to cut out the rivets in you old ball joints and replace them with the suppled bolts.

well thats good news, i am guessing these will fit on a 01. 5 also?? if so i have a extra set of lower control arms that need new ball joints and bushings. .

Thanks!! I called a local parts store with the number that you gave and they show them available by special order. Said it would be an hour to find availability. I called the stranded TDR member and gave him the good news, he is going to see if he can find them in the Indy area and try to change them out, pass the DOT inspect and tow his load out on Friday! This was great news for him.

I got the same answer from NAPA and O'reilly parts stores, no joints available. Great to have helpful TDR folks that are interested in CTD's, Larry

Hey guys hear is how it brakes down for the 2W/D , 1994-99 UPPER K7206T 2000-02 UPPER K7366 1994-96 LOWER K7205T 1997-99 LOWER R2500 K7269 2000-02 LOWER K7369 and the only years we make upper and lower control arm bushing kits for is 1994-99 UPPER K7276 and 1994-99 LOWER K7277.
