Now I think I have the OK to do this. I know it upsets some, but I know there are guys that don't visit the classifieds. I know I don't. Here is the link to them. Or click the link in my signature.

Side note, I am still planning on coming to Smoke over Peru the first weekend of October. I could bring them there.

Pastor, if this thread is going to get anybody in trouble, please delete it.

I know that others have done a 'heads up' like this and I think I read somewhere that it was ok. I could not get the link to open but my service is poor at times.

Well, I tried it and it did not work, so I *fixed it*. I tried it after the fix and it works, so try again James.

Looks like he is wanting a complete axle to me. Not just gears. Could be wrong though.

Michael, IIRC, it is OK to make one post about it, and link it to the classfifeds section. :) By the way, did the PO finally get you the title for the '90?

3.07s

Gentlemen,

I was under the impression that 3. 07s would not physically fit into a Dana 60 front, that's why I am looking for a Dana 61. If they do it's got to be easier and cheaper to do than a complete axle swap. So do 3. 07s fit in a Dana 60? Unfortunately any projects on Snowflake are on hold until the new truck is sold, it's consuming all my fun $$ :( .

60 61

The 3. 07 will not fit in the 60 housing. If you study the design of gears, you will see why the shape of the 3. 07 will not fit into the 60 housing. I don't know if the hypoid (the pinion offset below center) is the same on the two but I do know that the size of the pinion gear for the 3. 07 is larger and thus requires more offset than the 60 housing will accomodate.

Mysteryman has suggested that a special gear set might be made to fit in the 60 (and 70) housing so that the scarcity of the 3. 07 ratio might be overcome. But absolutely, the gear set made for the 61 will not fit in the 60 housing.

mummn so my '89 has 3. 07 Gears and its a 1 ton single rear wheel dana 60 front and dana 70 rear. . you guys are saying it doesn't fit?. . mummn do you mean I have a dana 61 front instead of a dana 60 front??... what do you guys mean. . ?

Thanks

Deo

If you have a 4x4 and 3. 07 ratio, you have a 61 Dana front.

If anyone has a 4. 10 set for sale and doesn't want the 3. 07s, please PM me.
