Diesel Price Watch!

Fuel Price hit $4.50 a gal.......

Well I had a year of enjoying daily driving of my new truck. $88 to fill the tank with gas is out of line. Time to ride the motorcycle again until the snow flies. Not such a bad thing I guess. Sure love driving my truck though.

Hopfully you just put diesel in and not gas. ;)

I decided to start driving my dog hauler (1995 Escort Wagon 5 speed) 2 days a week. It has 10x better A/C than my 2005 2500 and gets 30 mpg. I'm still gonna enjoy the truck 3 days a week & weekends.

Can't you just drive the truck a little less and still enjoy it?

You should just keep driving it. You'll get used to the price. We've been over $3 at the pumps for about 5 or 6 months now here on the left coast...

My last fillup was $97. Yeeeehaaaawww.Can't wait 'til it breaks a C-note

I'll still drive it on weekends to tow the trailer or tool around. But daily short commute to work I'm riding the MC. For instance, I planned my flyfishing trip this weekend around a stream accessible by pavement just so I could ride the bike. 300 miles round trip ... 35 mpg vs 15 ..... that's where $3/gal starts to hurt, when you empty the tank in one day.

I've got a 45 gal. in-bed aux. tank and I like to keep it and the main tank both full. That makes 80 gallons total I can carry. Good news is that I'm still burning $2. 65 diesel even though it's over $3 at all the stations I pass.

I can easily go 1,000 miles--and if it's all highway 1,500 miles without refueling. But the next time I fill up I'm gonna cry!

Yep, $3. 15 for #2 this morning. But Premium unleaded was $3. 29. First time it's been higher than diesel for a while here...

I guess in a sick sort of way I'm lucky. My truck has turned into a daily driver because it gets better mileage that my other rigs.

Dont let it get you down. Its gona cost what it costs. I drive my CTD 30 miles each way to work and back every day. Costs about $90. 00 a week. Dont have to like it but if it gets so bad that we cannot afford it imagine how the truckers feel. Something will give or western civilisation will collaps and then our trucks wont mean much when your trying to find food. Get some perspective and dont panic. Prioritize and keep anoying those hybrid driving ponytailed, bezerkly libs pointing at our trucks as the cause of all that is pure in darwin's world.

I am numb from all the recent bad news .

Just went through hurricane Katrina , which did nothing to Florida ,in comparison to Louisiana . The devastation thats taken place with this hurricane is unreal . A few days after i get a call from a friend in GA who days he seen $ 5 gas prices . :--)

I might take up bike ridin' real soon.

I don't have a choice but to drive the truck in my signature. The only other thing I have to drive is a 92 Chevy gasser that at it's best can only make about 13-14mpg. Two tanks ago I squeezed nearly 21 out of it, and even when I get on the throttle a good bit can make 19mpg. At current prices I'm saving about $70 every 600 miles by driving my diesel instead of the gasser. Sure, I could get better mileage on some other vehicle, but then I'd have payments and insurance, and I'd still probably end up driving the Ram since it's fun.

3. 09 is nothing. I paid 3. 29 yesterday, and it was as cheap as I could find it. Our local station is at $3. 59/gallon for diesel, but he's a freaking theif, and I'll never buy ANYTHING from him again, and that includes going into his convineince store. Welcome to our world over here on the west coast. . You'll get used to it. . filled up yesterday and it cost me about $110.

$3. 29 gal in so cal... . i dont have a street bike, but i'm gonna get one soon!

Yeah , now bikes are going to go through the roof ,everybody's talkin' about gettin' a scotter or a street bike. Before long we'll be like China or any other asian country where the masses use bikes as there primary mode of transportattion , not a good trend.

All hells breakin' loose run to the hills ! :{

robert4570, your friend is right. I show it on the news last night. They showed a station that had it over $5 and one that had it over $4 for gas. Gas in TN is around $2. 99 to $3. 29. Diesel is around $2. 79 to $2. 99. Filled up to day and I could only put $75 in the tank becase the pump cut off. Think god I only need a little more than half a tank. Gas jumped . 40 at some places.

Yep,

I thought he was kiddin' about the prices he quoted, but just seen it for my self on tv.

Only time will tell how this ordeal turns out .

NC diesel prices

I just filled up today in Canton, NC for $2. 59 - they had no gas left! I was their only customer. Yesterday there were long lines to buy gas @ $3. 09 per gal. Made me feel great to have a diesel.

The whole price increase is flat BS! They are just looking for a reason to screw us even more. Glad I get around 18-20 MPG, covering about 165 miles a day. Fuel prices suck! #@$%!
