3/4 & 1 ton frames different from 1/2 ton?

Thinking of swapping out my frame for one w/ out as much rust—I’ve had to weld up more than what I want to already.

So, can I use a 1/2 ton frame? Is there a difference?

I believe the frame is lighter wall, and possibly not boxed in the middle of the truck.

I would try to find a truck in a state that doesn't have snow & is configured like the one you have now.

This question has come up before. The answer is usually that there is no difference in the frame itself. The difference is in how heavy duty the suspension components are. If that is the case, if your frame is rusted so badly that the frame is weakened it follows that the suspension components are weakened as well.
