I will be towing a 5th wheel with max weight of 14,500 lbs I currently have a 48re with a 3. 73 rear end. Does anyone have an estimate as to what it would cost to change to a 4. 10. it my understanding that I will have to change both the front and rear differentials.

I am only trying to get an estimate of material and labor.

Too Much Money

It would help a little but the cost is prohibitive. If you could go to a 4:30 gear it might be more worth it. CTD has enough low end grunt that you should just try it the way it is. Better yet, put the bucks in a built torque converter and VB, the Dodge's are a slipping piece of JUNK!:-laf

I know a guy who went from 3. 73 to 4. 56. Parts and labor are about the same for 4. 10's.

It cost him about $1200. Randy's Ring and Pinion sells the parts if you want to get them on the internet.
