Hi I was wondering today i just wanted to trow 5 bucks of diesel in my truck but the guy put unleaded in it about 3 gallons. i did not start it up we pushed it to the garage at the gas station and they took the tank out and drained it and he put 20 gallons of diesel after that just wondering if everytheing will be fine. thanks

As long as you got the gasolene out, you will be fine. Apparently you never tried to start it, which will mean none entered the fuel line.

Even so, I would just let it idle for a few minutes before pushing on the go pedal. Can't hurt.

No worries. you didn't run it.

I see gas in diesels all the time here. The tourist end up on the hook on a regular basis. There are a few stations near Disneyland that have green handles on the gas pumps. The tow truck drivers love it.

When I first bought my CTD, I made the mistake and put about 10 gallons of unleaded in the tank before I realized what I was doing. I had a little less than half a tank of diesel at the time. I drove it about five miles to my house and drained the tank then added about 10 gallons of diesel to get me back to the station where I filled it back up with diesel. I did not notice any change in the way the engine ran with the gas and I haven't noticed any problems because of it. I'm around 500 miles short of reaching 140K and the Cummins runs great!

You should drain your tank, fuel lines and change filter. (Insurance)Fill tank with diesel and add 1 gallon of oil. Works every time. Our shop averages about 12 of those jobs per summer.
