2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 3 horn honks

every time I unlock my truck with the key or the remote button the horn honks 3 times. Its been doing it for quite some time. Finally just unplugged my horns. Any Ideas ?#@$%!

Hmm when I hear 3 horn blasts it's engines working astern..... But I'm just an old salt...

They found in mine that near any place where there was any air force or military base would set off horn when unlock. They wrapped the CTM with aluminum foil Per DC.

Mine does this sometimes, Post #5 is the solution, I have never fixed mine, doesn't do this often enough to go after the cause for me. This has been discussed more than once here and the thought is RF sources cause this, BUT it is so random for most trucks that I think most just live with it. Seemed to only be maybe 2000-2001 trucks??

Mine is an 02 & you are right it only happened now an then but people didn't like in camp grounds at 5:00 in the morning.

I hear that! Anymore I approach with caution, hit the FOB a few feet away so I am not standing right in front of the truck when that happens, keeps me from jumping quite as far, LOL. Mine rarely does this at home, usually at a hotel (travel a lot for work), BUT not that often either, maybe 1 out of 10 opens if that often. I could see it being a problem at 0500 in a campground though.

When they (Carson Dodge) wrapped the CTM it has not done it again, peace & quiet in the campgrounds.

The Ctm (Central Timing Module) is under the dash in & around the radio area. Someone on here can probably give you an exact location.

Mine does the same thing, at the WORST time it seems. I will give the CTM trick a try.
