Just wanted to check with all the experts out there obout the install of the 3k gov. spring kit. I'm working on a 215 hp pump it uses 4 springs in the stock configuration, 1 large idle spring and a series of mid to hi speed springs, all the directions I've read say to remove all but the larger outer spring, none of the directions mention 3 smaller springs, just 2 , I'm guessing the 2 springs from the kit replace the 3 stock springs, is that correct? Thanks in advance! And if there is any advice on going back to stock spring tension adjustments or looser or tighter let me know

Yes keep the largest original spring and replace the other originals with the springs from the kit. We used calipers like the directions said and it was pretty easy to set them back to the stock adjustment. You'll probably need to up the idle a bit when you're done.

However I'm having an interment problem once in a while since we installed my GSK. Get off the throttle and the truck doesnt stop at idle it'll just die. Still working on that one.

Thanks for the info, I've installed a few of these on the 160hp pumps and have had no problems with the idle speed. We'll see if my luck holds for this 215hp pump

Just a quick update, I finished the install and fired it up, idle speed is just were it was with the stock springs and it gets up to 3000 really easy now. Now all I have to do is wait for is spring till the ice is off the roads to really try it out!
