Was updating my signature this morning to reflect additional miles on my trucks. Realized that the total miles for all 5 trucks have surpassed 3 million. HOLY COW!!!! How did that HAPPEN???? Well, I know exactly how it happened, one mile at a time...

Obviously I haven't put all those miles on myself. Every one of those trucks was purchased used and some had been abused. The three 3rd Gens are leased out to other drivers who deliver camping trailers all over the country, hence the high miles.

'89 150,000 miles at purchase, now 264,xxx

'01 239,000 miles, now 802,xxx

'04. 5 329,000 miles, now 725,xxx

'05 417,xxx miles, now 635,xxx

'06 533,xxx miles, now 600,xxx

Amazingly, the '06 still has the original transmission. The '89 and '01 have both had head gaskets.

Now, back out to the garage to install a new rear main seal with wear sleeve, refurbished South Bend Con OFE with upgraded flywheel and rebuilt NV5600 on the '01. This truck has been sitting for 2 years and 10 months, time to get it going. Then on to 1 million miles on one truck!

Godspeed,

Trent

It amazes me how many of these trucks are running that kind of mileage. Not just a truck here or there but all over the place i hear of trucks with crazy high mileage. Makes me feel pretty confident that my 98 with 87k will be around for a long time to come
