This is one that is has not been advertised, much, Its DPS, diesel power source, he builds it here in utah and distributes to other dealers. It looks like the others, so I'll see how it works out with my 95. The 12 valves are pretty much the same design. Doing a search here, some are not happy with the response of one of the popular dealers, as to early rusting and leaking with E-brakes.

I've run an ATS 3 piece for about 5 years now. I had a freind port it and I swear it came back 20 lbs lighter:rolleyes:. Most now offer a ported version, which I would recomend unless you can port it yourself.

You want relatively small ports on a first gen because you aren't trying for 800 HP. I picked the BD for my '90; it has moderate sized ports that match the head ports well, and comes with high strength stainless bolts. In fact, I use the BD with my more or less 600 HP Third Gen. With a turbo engine, keep the gases tight before the turbo; you don't want them to expand in the manifold and then compress them again in the turbine housing.

The ports on my ATS manifold on my 3rd gen looked more uniform and matched the gaskets perfectly. The inside of the runners was also nice and smooth. I noticed more smoke when accellerating from low rpm. This makes sense with what Joe has to say about keeping up the speed of the exhaust gas. My cruising boost went down too.
