Thank God I went for the extended warranty
Truck still runs smooth, transmission shifts better than it did when new, fuel economy has drastically improved over the last 10,000 miles. My comp reads approx. 15-15. 8 and I'm seeing 17 - 18mpg actual. (empty of course) Pulling a single trailer approx weight of 6500lbs I see 12-13. 5 mpg. The truck also pulls better now. Seems to feel less bogged down when towing.
On cold mornings now, the first time I punch the loud pedal to the floor it looks like the world has ended. A ton of smoke spews out until you shift, then no more.
The tires from the factory are a joke. I'm already at the point where I need to look at getting new ones - not fun... I received a quote this morning for $1080 for 6. OUCH!
If I'm going to spend that kind of money I would love to find a tire that has a higher rating.
I put a 5" exhaust on it, love the exterior sound, hate the interior drone. As soon as I get the time, I'm going to attempt to kill the harmonic blast that assaults my ears. I also find the need for more power. Not so much when towing, but more for when I'm empty.
A few minor paint chips and a disgusting yellow hue on the rear fender from the diesel. I've scrubed and scrubed by can not get it off. May try a clay bar for grins to see if it makes any difference.
Other than that, I can't think of to much else. I would recommend to DC that they make the seats a little more comfy for long hauls.
Oh yeah, the only problems I've had to date - My ignition switch went out at 16k miles taking my ability to enjoy A/C out with it and my rear end cover looks like it's 40 years old. There is ZERO paint left on it, and a ton of rust has taken it's place. I'm going to raise hell the next time I am at the dealer and see if I can either get a new one or some type of credit towards an aftermarket one (PIPE DREAM).
