Gauge question

3rd Gens with Spinner II

Interesting: but I saw no reference to fuel quality or filtering requirements and what type of lab quality clean fuel they used for the 10k hour test. which is the most important factor in running this type of injector. Are they really ready for real world fuel yet? This is what cat is struggling with on there HUEI "hydraulic unit electronic injector" engines. They also produce a lot of carbon internally in engine crankcase requiring more frequent oil changes and also under the high injection pressures due to using engine oil as the hydraulic system to operate them. standard oil gets hotter and breaks down faster. Synthetic oil can help this a little. Maybe they are using fuel as the hydraulic fluid I didn't see what they ran on for this.

I like the "Fat Cigar" reference to the price. $1K each. OUCH. Not bad for something that will need to be changed every year due to fuel quality related failures. Hope they have a good warranty department. Price gouging factor already implemented before it is even marketed. :-laf :--)

Okayy, doesn't really tell you how it works, and how in tarnation it develops 160,000 psi. Hydraulically or not, it takes a lot of energy to develop that kind of pressure and it will create a lot of heat. To multiply hydraulic force you'd need quite a bit of surface area as well as volume to generate enough injection volume at 160k psi.

I wonder what sort of materials they use in the tip to withstand that much pressure over time?

?Sorry, I'm not buying this one  To achieve pressure, you have to exert force equal to or greater than ;) Whether it be in measured, staged increments or all at once, physics compells us that we have to develop pressure. Show me the mechanics of this that will get to 160,000 psi in a device that is the size of a cigar with no other reqirments other than a low pressure feed pump  What engine did they use or develop this on and why is the engine manufacture not stepping up in a loud voice say "Look what we helped do"

I say this is a bunch of Smoke and Mirrors designed to seperat hard earned money from the unwarry ;)
