Is there some trick or miracle to get that side plug you remove to do the 3000 gsk swap back in??? Been trying for 1 whole hour and I've developed a new vocabulary now:mad:. It just doesn't want to grab the threads on the plug. The plug even looks like it has a round taper to help with lining it up but it does no good. Help:eek:.

Even though you have it in now, in the future if you or anyone has this problem it is best solved removing the top bolt and loosening the bottom one so you can get the shutoff arm out of your way, then when you put the plug in move the arm a little so the plug will fall into place, and yes it sometimes acts like the threads are messed up but what I have seen is the plug is hitting the arm base it's just hard to see.

I can't get the plug out without removing the shut off lever from the pump. If you do this, watch out as there is a small woodruff key indexing it to the shaft. Mine was found on top of the diff housing...

I did take the fuel shut off solenoid totally off, I had to repair the rubber boot on the plunger. Mine just fell apart:eek:, so I used a piece of bicycle tubing:). Finally got the dang plug back in.

My shut off Solenoid fell apart too when I tried to loosen the side plug too. The boot was rotted. Spend an hour on my hands and knees feeling thru the grass looking for pieces. I was not even sure what I was looking for since this was the first time I had looked at the shut off solenoid. I lost all interest in going any further. :D
