Only the DRW with the Aisin gets the 11. 8" rear. All others still get the 11. 5" rear for 2013. 3. 42 is standard and is the only option on the SRW trucks. . DRW has different ratio options... BTW, this only applies to the Cummins equipped '13 Ram HD. . Get the Hemi, and you get gear options and different rear.

Who makes the 300mm axle? I don't see that size on AAM's website.

Based on the lack of issues with high power trucks and heavy towing with the AAM 11. 5 I wonder what the 300mm is actually gaining?

I would guess it is still AAM. If Ram has an exclusive on it it might not show on the site. I would also guess that it fits in the existing housing without modification including the carrier and might only be offered in one ratio, the 4. 10. Since it will require a matching pinion there is probably enough room in the housing to set it at a shallower depth. I would say the extra strength might be significant.

If that truck is worth $67k my '08 C&C is worth $55k now.

Soon we'll have to push two carts up to the register in a grocery store to buy enough groceries to eat for a week. One with the groceries and another filled with dollar bills to pay for them.

I bought my 1st 4x4 in 1977. It was a loaded (for that time) 1/2ton, short bed, GMC. Nice, light duty truck. Sticker. Was $6,200. They had one on the showroom floor for a little over $8,000. I said that will be the day! Right. Then my 92 Ram broke $20,000. I said what have I done. The. 04 cost a little over $ 31,000. I dont think I will ever be able to buy new again, unless the economy turns around, and RI is among the worst in the United States.

The 300mm rear has heavier bearings as well, so it's not just the R&P. I'm glad to see I'm not alone thinking about these prices, on the Cummins forum it's all about the fully loaded Laramies/Longhorns. I hope to order a MY14, will be a Big Horn. My 98' sticker was $38K, the equivalent today is $58K.
