I took the truck in today to get the front end looked at (it pulls to the right pretty hard), and the service manager gave me a checklist of the items thier 30k mile service covers. So I have a few questions for you, the real experts on these trucks.

The list of things I'm questioning includes:

PVC valve

service throttle body system

Do those 2 items apply to the CTD? I am not a fan of this dealer's service department since the last service manager left. The new guy is a complete moron. So, is there a shop (dealer or independant) that anyone could recommend in the SLC or Provo area that would handle this service?

Also, could someone point me to the website that has the factory service manual? I did a quick search but came up empty handed. Thanks everyone.

The only maintenance changes you need to make on the CTD on any mileage intervals are: fuel filter-15,000 miles or less, oil/filter- depends on what you use 3,000 to 10,000 miles, transmission fluid/filter- 20-25,000 miles, differentials - 15,000 miles, cooler flush- 100,000miles and lube all small working parts (front suspension) on every oil change. Also keep an eye on the air filter every now and then (depends what kind you got for more cleaning intervals). If I'm missing something someone will chime in. I think I covered 99% of maintenace on these trucks.

So that service guy is full of the big pile of ****!!!

:--) Oh, man, that is awesome. Tell him you'd also like to get the plugs gapped while you're in there.

What would be really slick would be to authorize these services and then see if you get charged for them. If you do, go straight to the local news and see if they want to do a story on it.

Service

The only place I will take my truck to get serviced is Carrigan Dodge in Morgan City. Prob a little drive for you being in salt lake area. My parents live in Morgan, I live in West Haven which is west of Ogden so it is a little drive for me but it is well worth it. It costs me about $45 to $50 for a service and Brett who is the service contact for carrigans is awesome! He treats his customers very well and does not try to sell you a service that you dont need. Look them up it is worth the drive.

I can't tell you who to take your truck to for service in or around Salt Lake, but I can tell you who NOT to take your truck to for any service other then warranty, the dealer.
