Looking for a stock GM turbo

Take the valve cover off and right to the rear of the first set of rockers on the pishrod side, there is a screw with a jamnut. It takes a special tool to adjust and keep it right. It takes like a 8mm deep socket and a 1. 5mm allen. If you give me a couple of days I will look up the part number for the tool. It would be worth the 30 dollars for it. It makes adjusting it alot easier. I think you turn the screw out to to increase rack travel, but you might have to play with it, It is really sensitive too.

There might be a seal on one of the rocker bolts with a wire through the bolt, this is to let the dealer know if you have been playing with the fuel setting. If it is out of warranty then just cut the wire and take the little seal off and trash it and put the bolt in.

I will get the PN for the tool and maybe some copies of the adjustment procedure.

The adjustment is under the V. C. on the rack..... the stock spec will say on the V. C. like 6. 55mm for example.

I usually set the 3116 10% over to give the driver that "new" truck feel. :)

not that the 3116 ever feels new to begin with. ;)

Backing out the AFR (same as our AFC) can wake em up some too. We did that to the GM chassis ambulances and the drivers liked it.

alright, thanks. a friend of mine just bought an extra backup bucket truck for a price he couldn't refuse... he'll let me put some more power into the motor. one of the current regular trucks he wont let me do anything to- fl50 with the 5. 9 cummins 12v :( . heck, some bigger injectors and pump mods i figured would make him happy... :D

He won't let you touch the 12 valve??? That would be the quickest/easiest power increase he has ever seen;) Does he know just how easy it is to squeeze more power out of that plant?

nope, he wont let me touch it. i figured it would be nice to be able to race the stock 4 bangers and keep right up with them. :D that's his nice truck though--he says that he doesn't want the smoke to come out of it. he'll spend a little money to help with the chevy though so... cool. hey, i'll learn more. it has a 4 speed allison auto, can the transmission hold anymore power (it'll maybe put 10,000 miles max on per year). while driivng it home, all it would do was 65mph which is alright for the most part, but the acceleration is horrible.
