315/70/R17 Tires

Question for the group: Does a 315/70/R17 tire fit in the under bed spare tire location? I have a 2012 2500 and it looks like a 315 might fit... there is some room around the 265 tire, but there is a heat shield maybe two inches away. If a 315 will fit by the heat shield is anyone aware of any other clearance issues in the spare tire location (vertical under the truck, rear axle clearance, etc. ) I am looking to upgrade tires and would like to have a full size spare if it will fit. I welcome comments from folks that have one installed/stored one in the under be spare spot. Thank you.

I know that a 285-70-17 will just make it I don't think a 315 will. a 315 is just about 34. 5" and a 285 is about 32. 5"

Yes, a 315/17 will fit. I had a spare 315/70/17 under my '05, '09, and my current '12. No clearance issues.
