2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 315/75/R16 tires on stock steel wheels

My truck needs tires and I don't have the cash right now to replace my 36" Dirt Grips. I'm looking to get a set of the new Dunlop Rover M/T Maxx Traction tires Size 315/75/R16 and mount them on my stock 16"X6. 5" chrome stock wheels for the winter. Tire Rack has them for $181. 00 a piece Load Range "E". I know it's been done. Just looking for feedback from anyone who's done it. Thanks, Glen

Had these BFG's on my truck for a few years. Never 1 problem. I put that size tire on every 2nd gen I have had, and they were all on factory rims. I almost always use the aluminum factory wheel which were a little wider,but i wouldn't think twice about the 6. 5 steel rims.

It can be done, although I have not ran on it. I just put that size on my spare, which is a stock wheel. I know the tire shops won't do anything unless its safe (liability reasons). Goodyear had know problems with it when I asked them to do it.
