I have a 99 with the front spacers and after market wheels, Has anyone run 315/75/16 pro comp mud tires and how did they last? I have 285/75/16 bfg at kos on and I have 10000 miles and they are braking us and chunking. So thats the reason for the question about the pro comps. Thanks Mike

I'm running that tire (315 Pro Comp MT) and unfortunately have no idea how many miles on them since I bought the truck with 31K on it and the tires were already there. I can say that BFG 'usually' get outstanding mileage and have never heard of chunking, especially with AT. MT tires tend to do this in certain circumstances. Is it your rear or both front and rear? Detroits are WAY harder on rear tires than open and will cause more wear. Anyway, sorry I don't have better mileage data on the Pro Comps but doubt very seriously they will last longer than BFG, and having had both tires on K5 Blazers I KNOW the BFG ride better.

I have pro-comp AT's, I have had no problems at all. They are very quiet on the highway and wear very well 38k with about 3/4 tread left. ( I swap tires in winter for plowing) I could not turn wheel with the weight of the plow using the wide tires.

I have run BFG AT's and had similar wear problems, they were going out of balance within 10,000 miles, WAY OUT of BALANCE!! The edges of the sidewalls were cracking and splitting. I had one delaminate its tread, road hazard covered it, but it scared me to death to trust them again with the loads I pull.

I have run Dick Cepek M/T's The last version before mickey bought them up, they peeled off under the torque, so did their A/T's, but they stayed within a reasonable balance limit.

I have had Pro Comp's as well and had decent tread life so long as I kept the truck unloaded. 285-16's I ran the 315's for a few months, but they flexed too much with my trailer on the back so I dropped back down to 285's.

Last year I put a set of Wally World liberators on my dodge 285/16's and am now at 1/2 tread after 40,000 miles. I rotate once a month and rebalance regardless of mileage though. Too many gravel roads up here.
