The tires fit fine without a lift. The just rub a little on the control arms at full lock. I have a picture of where the tires rub in my readers rigs section. I can't telll you how these tires effected my mileage since I had my tires installed at the dealer.

315's

I don't know how Carl's don;t rub. Mine rub on my '04 w/ the 2'' leveling kit. They rub right on the back outside corner of the fenders, just before full lock.

Mine don't rub but I have the 315s mounted on Hummer rims. It really fills in the wheel wells . I love it.

Carl's pictures capture exactly where my touch too. The spot is about as big as your fingernail and only just touches the paint. No damage to the tires or the truck is evident... . Go get 'em they look wicked! :)

Dont do it if you plan to use your truck. . BFG is not what they used to be. As your springs drop in time, they rub bad then you need a lift. I use my truck and have had 6 of 8 BFG ATs go bad. If you just drive around they might be ok But if you pull like I do you may not like them.

Does anyone know if Sam's Club still has a deal on the 315's?

Thanks,

Blake

I called SAM's Club and they gave me a price of $216 each. The local tire store wanted $228 each mounted balanced and out the door.

Blake

Call your local Hummer dealership... you should be able to get a set of 4 pretty cheap. I got mine, mounted and balanced for 400 bucks out the door, brand new tires and about half of what it would be at discount, big O etc.

Mine only rub a little on the upper control arms. I haven't noticed any contact with the fender.

How much taller is the truck with the 315 tires on a 04. 5 3500 SRW Quad SB?

I pull a gooseneck and need to stay close to stock.

Thanks

Warren

I believe it is about 1. 6" higher. I haven't measured before or after, but I know that there is about a 3. 2" difference in tire diameter meaning about a 1. 6" increase in height... . if memory serves correctly.

Hey Blakers,

I just picked up a set of 4 BFG 315-70-17's from a web site called 4customtrucks.com.

Delivered to my door they were only $587. 84.

They are having a special, get em while you can!

I have been running them for a year... be careful... the death wobble... really likes these tires... many of us that are running these have the DW real bad...

and no one commented on mpg. Maybe I won't go that big? thanks, Doc

I just think the 315s will put my truck in a sweet rpm range for mileage. Kinda like going to 3. 54 gears like my good ole 95 CTD had.

fender rubbing issue?

My guess why you are the only one in this post having the fender-rubbing problem has to due with your leveling kit. Having never seen the tough country model or and 03's front suspension for that matter but assuming the design is somewhat similar to the second generation 4x4 design if the leveling kit doesn’t replace the control arms with longer ones then it will move the axle centerline slightly backwards which would cause your rubbing on the fender.

Just a thought
