$320 4" exhaust system....Any good?

Hi All,



I was looking on Ebay and ran across a company selling (or soon to be selling) a 4" 14 ga aluminized mandrel bent exhaust for the 1st gen... . Price seemed real reasonable too... . $320 + S/h... .

(includes hangers too and 3 1/2 inch downpipe)..... Only thing that confused me a little was the fact that the seller said you do not want a 4" downpipe... . Any idea why?... . I thought 4" all the way was optimal?..... Anybody know of this person or of its quality?

(current Ebay item #is 7930952944... . I wrote to the seller and they said one will be available for us first genners shortly)



I almost think this would be better than the one Rip has at source auto since this kit will have a 3/12 down pipe vs 3", includes hangers vs none, is 14 ga vs 16 ga and is (or will be cheaper to boot... . $320 vs $450+).....



Any input would be appreciated... Maybe I should post this in the second gen area to see if anybody there has delt with this person/co?

I'd call Rip and ask what the differance are he's in the bussiness. BTW buying from a known source is better than a unknown. Do you really know what that other person is selling? With rip you ALWAYS know what your getting.

I've emailed the guy that sells the exhaust kits on ebay, he originally, don't know if he still does, advertised a full 4" kit for our trucks. Then said no, the dp is 3". He must have changed his description. Wonder how many kits he sold to folks thinking they were gettting a FULL 4" kit. Sounds fishy to me, if he would say you don't want a 4" dp. Outta ask him why. Some guys on here will weld up starting from a 3" few inch piece of dp out of the turbo since it has a 3" exit, then weld a 3-4" adaptor or something, then 4" down straight piece, 4" 45* piece, so on and so forth, can be done piece by piece if you can weld or have access to one.

eBay Item #7915567537 is also for an aluminized exhaust system for our trucks. From what I can tell, it's a 3" dp and 4" back. $305 with hangers and $25 shipping. Does it look worthwhile??

At one time Pinnacle and Jerry Jardine were one of the leaders in Cummins exhuast systems, now it seems like everybody is making them.
