Ok, I finally got the correct gov spring in the truck. (they had sent me a compression spring not a tension spring. ) It works great, my question is, at 85mph in 4th gear how many rpm's am I running?:-laf I still havent gotten around to making the tach work in the truck. I have a nv4500 and am running stock tires. btw, it had rpms left it just sounded so different then i've ever heard it made me nervous to go higher. :-laf

I still say the 3200 spring is my favorite bomb. Cheap, relatively easy, and really useful. My 92 with 3. 54s runs right near 70 at 2k RPM in OD. Gotta watch it when I pass someone quicklike on the two lane cause I hit 90+ in nothing flat.

I can hit 90 in 4th with mine! Getrag with 3. 54's. I gotta get my 60# springs in, then I'll go higher! :-laf

I cant do that around here, Pete, but I have gone 55 in 3rd. Does that count? I think it was right at 3500rpm.

so i guess I was running around 3400 rpm at 85? that sound about right?

M, that sounds pretty close. Not sure on the ratios in the 4500 compared to the getrag.

I think the nv4500 has an overdrive ratio of 0. 75?
